Knife and Charger Bundle

Knife and Charger Bundle

This bundle comes with the C-200 Ultrasonic Chef's Knife and the Wireless Charging Tile.

The C-200 is the world’s first ultrasonic chef’s knife, designed specifically for home cooks. You can’t see the blade move, you can’t hear it when it’s on, and you can’t feel any vibration in the handle. But when you press the orange button, the knife cuts with up to 50% less effort, with less sticking, and easier cleanup. When it’s on, the blade vibrates over 30,000 times a second, making the knife behave sharper than it physically is.

The Wireless Charging Tile is made from mahogany and can live on your counter, in a drawer, or mount on the wall of your kitchen with no drilling or cords required.

  • Robotic arm cutting a tomato and a graph of the forces exerted during cutting showing a 50% difference between the ultrasonic knife on and off

    Cut with ease.

When the knife is on, it cuts with up to 50% less force. We measured... with a robot.

  • Close up of ultrasonic knife blade tip showing construction of Japanese san-mai three layer steel

    Japanese steel

It’s a great knife even when it’s off. The blade is made from san-mai or “three layer” Japanese AUS-10 steel with a hard, inner core that holds an exceptionally sharp edge.

  • Wireless charging

The solid mahogany charging tile contains its own battery and recharges your knife wirelessly.

The Wireless Charging Tile (sold separately) keeps your battery topped up so you’re always ready for action. The tile is milled from solid mahogany and keeps your blade edge protected when not in use. It can live on your counter, in a drawer, or wall-mounted with no cords and no drilling required.

FAQ

What generates the vibrations in the C-200?

The C-200 doesn't use any vibrating motors or magnets to generate its ultrasonic vibration. Instead, it uses PZT-8 piezoelectric ceramic crystals. This engineered ceramic material expands very slightly in one direction when an electric current is applied. In the C-200, these crystals make the blade resonate at ultrasonic frequency while directing energy into the blade rather than the handle.

Is an ultrasonic knife safe?

Yes. An ultrasonic knife isn't inherently more dangerous than any other sharp kitchen knife. You still have to be careful (it is a sharp blade!), but the C-200 can make cutting safer because you use less force and maintain more control than using a dull knife.

How does the Wireless Charging Tile work?

The Wireless Charging Tile functions as both a charger and an elegant, magnetic storage mount for your knife. It contains its own internal battery and a Qi wireless charging coil, just like the kind your phone uses to wirelessly recharge. Set the knife on the tile with the blade pointed either to the left or the right-your choice, and magnets in the block will hold the knife securely to the Charging Tile. When the knife's battery is full, charging will stop automatically.

Does the Charging Tile need to stay plugged in?

No - one of the benefits of the Charging Tile is that it's cord-free in daily use, just like your knife. You only need to plug in the tile occasionally to recharge its internal battery. The rest of the time, you can place the tile wherever is convenient (counter, wall, or drawer) without any cord.

How many charges can the tile provide before it needs to be plugged in?

When the Wireless Charging Tile is charged up, it holds enough power to fully recharge the knife about 8-10 times before the tile itself needs recharging. In normal home use, that translates to weeks of use between having to plug the tile in. When the Charging Tile's battery is running low, the light will flash red. Plug it in any time to recharge it (via USB-C, cable & charger not included).
